GIS Consulting & Application Development
I am a GIS Professional based out of New York’s Tech Valley, with a passion for open source GIS, web mapping, and application development. If you are interested in GIS consulting or need a custom mapping application developed, feel free to contact me.
My educational background is in Environmental Planning and Natural Resource Management and I have over 10 years of experience managing complex GIS projects for a variety of clients in both the public and private sectors. I received my bachelors degree in Environmental Science from Plattsburgh State University's Center for Earth & Environmental Science in 2004 and became a Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) in 2009.
I am an advocate of Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial (FOSS4G) and I actively contribute to several leading open source projects, including the excellent Leaflet JavaScript mapping library and Leaflet Vector Layers plugin. I developed and maintain the Leaflet Users Map and am an active contributor on the Leaflet Forum. I am also a member of the CartoDB and Fulcrum Partner Networks.
I'm a member of the NYS GIS Association and often present at local GIS User Groups, Conferences and Technology Symposiums. In 2009 I instructed an "Introduction to Open Source GIS" course at SUNY Adirondack. I'm currently involved in several volunteer initiatives and have recently developed web-mapping applications for the Niskayuna Safe Routes Committee and Sustainable Saratoga.
In association with an extended network of trusted developers, designers, and consultants, I provide a variety of contract and freelance services for projects of all sizes and budgets. Feel free to contact me with your scope of work and I would be happy to provide a quote free of charge.
